In January 2022, 39.4% of new vehicles sold were four-wheel drive. In February it was already 40.6%. In March, a record was set – 42.2%. And since April, a decline started: first to 41.4% and in May to 33.5%.

Such figures were obtained by Avtostat analysts after examining Electronic Passport JSC (EPTS). This is due to a decline in sales of premium cars, the supply of which to Russia has practically stopped. Before that, 90% of them were bought with four-wheel drive.

As a result, the share of front-wheel drive cars has increased. In April it rose to 58.3% and in May 66.3%. Rear-wheel drive still has a small share of sales – 0.2-0.3% of their total number.
