“Although chips and damage to the paintwork of the car body can lead to further rust, it is not worth eliminating them by partially painting the parts. Firstly, such adjustments immediately reduce the residual value of the car, and secondly, even in certified workshops it is not always possible to choose a paint shade equivalent to the factory color,” said Ivansky.
According to the expert, it is better to treat small chips and scratches using a touch-up kit. It is recommended to perform this procedure in a room where the air temperature reaches +20 degrees. In this case, a stencil must be used to prevent the repair paint from spreading.
