In May of this year, the government passed Decree No. 855, which legalized the production of cars according to simplified (actually – old) standards. The list of differences between such machines and the machines produced before is quite extensive and in fact we have returned to the standards of 15 years ago.
But right now it’s probably the only way out. to resume the work of enterprises in the terms of sanctions. And this is not just the renewal of the fleet, the preservation of production and jobs at car factories. This will generally have a positive effect on the economy, because For a long time, it was estimated that one job in the automotive industry generates ten jobs in related industries.
The specialists of Za Rulem, the oldest and most authoritative automotive publication in Russia, and the Avtostat agency conducted a survey and found out what our readers think.
39% they are dissatisfied with this “simplification” and believe that it will lead to the degradation of the Russian car industry; this measure is temporary and there is no other way out yet, they believe 23% respondents; 16% worried that the safety of the car will suffer, and 22% We are confident that buyers are unlikely to be upset.
Expert opinion
Azat Timerkhanovhead of the press service of the agency “Avtostat”:
– With all the drawbacks of this decision, there is still a very important plus that outweighs them. This is what the Russian car industry will continue to function. It is necessary for companies to work in some way and for people to receive salaries.
Yes, cars are becoming less safe, but this is something prospective owners should keep in mind when they get behind the wheel. Yes, such cars will not be modern, but they will still be bought, because the choice is getting smaller every month. In addition, “simplified” versions should be cheaper. But the most important thing is different: companies produce cars, dealers sell them and customers pay money for them. All this will certainly not hinder our economy, which is currently in difficult circumstances.
You must understand that this is an enforced measure, which is temporary. How long it will take is hard to say. However, during this period, certain steps will still be taken to resolve this issue. This concerns both the search for alternative suppliers and the establishment of a similar industry in the country. I hope this doesn’t end up on paper.
