The Russian government has submitted to the State Duma a bill banning taking a driver’s license test after a previous administrative fine for drunk driving. This has been reported TASS with a link to the document.
The bill proposes to supplement the road safety law with a new norm that allows drunk driving and prohibits driving license exams for non-driving people.
The explanatory materials indicate that the ban will remain in effect until the expiration of the period in which these persons are considered subject to this administrative penalty.
According to the authors of the initiative, criminal punishment is imposed in the form of deprivation of the right to drive, both to persons who have the right to drive, and to those who do not have the corresponding right, therefore, the bill also prohibits the acquisition of the right to drive. vehicles in driving activities for persons who do not have the right to drive, who are sentenced to a penalty in the form of deprivation of the right to work according to the established procedure.
In addition, the document sets new criteria for bus drivers and clarifies the issue of allowing people with foreign driver’s licenses to drive.
