It’s no secret that many drivers warn each other about a traffic police ambush by flashing their high beams at oncoming traffic. Obviously you don’t blink at night (you can dazzle), but during the day this phenomenon is very common on country roads. In the official report “Behind the Wheel” in Viber, we decided to ask our readers what they think about warning passers-by about the traffic police on duty at the roadside.
And here are the results we got. Perhaps the main conclusion should be considered that the vast majority of motorists really warn their colleagues – this answer was chosen by 2410 people out of 3282 votes, this is 73%. Another 19% do not always warn others about an ambush, depending on their mood. And the rest are a clear minority: Only 5% of those who answered never honk at oncoming traffic, and another 2% only warn motorists.
Compiled according to the results of the vote “Behind the wheel” in Viber.
But in the comments to this vote, another option was revealed: some drivers supported our reader, which only warns oncoming cameras about installed cameras, and in particular those that are not installed according to the rules. But the reader refused to warn of the presence of a traffic police unit.
He explains his position by the fact that it is not necessary to intervene with the police to identify drunk drivers, “non-security carriers” and those who are not trained according to GOST. But another section of drivers disagrees with this point of view – arguing that it’s possible to “get in trouble” with the traffic police even if you haven’t broken anything.
- A little earlier, we asked our readers what they think about increasing the fine for driving again without a license to 100,000 rubles.
- Incidentally, “Driving” is now available to watch on RuTube.
