As previously reported, the assembly of Lada Granta sedans in a simplified configuration began on May 8 at the AvtoVAZ conveyor belt in Togliatti. It is known that the cars will be equipped with a low-emission VAZ-11182 engine, they will not have ABS and ERA-GLONASS systems. Note that the information is preliminary and unofficial, the manufacturer will tell about the equipment of the machines later.
Assembly of the car began during the first shift, the plan is 68 commercial vehicles, Avtograd News reports. Such a modest number is explained by the changed technological process and the associated reconfiguration of the work of the personnel of the assembly posts, the source writes. The volume of issuance will increase in the coming days. The work of the evening shift on the assembly line is still under discussion.
The same source reports that the shipment of painted bodies and car kits of the “anti-crisis” Grant has already started for two more assembly sites – the Togliatti Lada Sport, which produces the Granta Drive Active version, and the ChechenAvto company in the city of argun. The total June assembly plan for these two locations is 452 commercial vehicles, according to the source.
