The diagnostic card in the hands of car owners does not protect them from fines for technical faults on cars that an inspector of the traffic police will notice. In some cases, the car can even be sent to a car repossession.
Here are three reasons to fine you on the road, despite the passed technical inspection and exemplary behavior on the road.
a. A dead or missing headlight. This will carry a fine of 500 rubles, unless you convince the inspector that you go to the nearest place where you can fix the problem and the headlight is no longer lit or has just been broken (stolen).
2. According to the rules, headlights (or daytime running lights) must always be on when driving, which is prescribed by Article 19.5 of the SDA (otherwise you can also be fined 500 rubles):
During the day, all moving vehicles must switch on dipped beam or daytime running lights to identify them.
3. Excessive tinting of the windshield and side windows (if the light transmission is below 70%). To determine the degree of light transmission, the inspector must use a special device, and we talked about all the intricacies of the procedure here. The fine for excessive painting is also 500 rubles, and if the film is not removed within 10 days after the check, the driver can be arrested for even 15 days.
