Kaluga region governor Vladislav Shapsha said that the idle Volkswagen, PSMA Rus (Peugeot-Citroen) and Volvo automobile factories will start working again at the end of 2023. In this respect reports TASS.

According to him, negotiations regarding the workload of the Volkswagen plant are currently ongoing. The first vehicle kits are expected to arrive here at the end of December, after which vehicle assembly will begin. Shapsha did not specify which brand of car they would produce there.
The official added that an agreement was also reached for the PSMA Russian plant (owned by Stellantis and Mitsubishi companies) to restart mass production of cars. The governor said that technologies were also developed here and trial series were produced.
