The Russian government decided to extend the M-12 high-speed toll highway to Tyumen and name it “Vostok”. In this respect reported on the official government website.
“Now in all official documents the route of the M-12 Vostok highway must be indicated in the new edition: Moscow – Kazan – Yekaterinburg – Tyumen,” the Council of Ministers said in a statement.
The relevant decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. It will include many existing roads, including the M-12 Vostok highway, a section of the M-7 Volga highway Kazan – Dyurtyuli. It will also include parts of the under-construction P-242 road connecting Perm and Yekaterinburg, as well as the P-351 highway from Yekaterinburg to Tyumen.
The extension work will mainly consist of the reconstruction of the highway, and the work is planned to be completed in 2024. In addition, after the renaming of M-12, the name “Vostok” will disappear on the highway from Khabarovsk to Nakhodka.
Currently the length of the M-12 highway equals: 811 km, 415 km of which is a paid section.
