This weekend Tatarstan will host the Vanlifefest 2022 festival, which organizers call autosabantuy. The party already has a rich history, but from year to year it was nomadic and constantly changed its location. However, for the second year in a row it took place in Innopolis – last year was very successful. In any case, this time the scale is not inferior to the previous one: about 400 campers from different regions of Russia gathered.

Until recently, most motorhomes were bought in Europe, but the current situation has meant that the festival has become a real celebration of home technology, organizers say. According to their plan, the autosabantuy should be a place where people share their experiences with each other: how to build a camper from an ordinary GAZelle, arrange a mini sewer in your van, or place children on a bunk bed in a car.

The festival is a platform where the makers of campsites, manufacturers of everything necessary for road trips and the travelers themselves meet. Among the participants are bloggers Seryozha and Dasha from the Urals, who tell on their Youtube channel “Little House – Big Life” how they built a camper based on a three-wheeled Chinese tricycle (!) more than 7500 kilometers on the clock . Now the boys are building a new campervan based on the Ural Hercules tricycle.

Of course, the cost of a motorhome has sometimes risen in price. For example, a domestic analogue today can cost up to 8 million, for many such an amount for entertainment is not available. Therefore, today in Russia a drop trailer is gaining popularity, in which there is a kitchen and sleeping places that allow you to travel autonomously. Their cost ranges from 350 thousand to a million. Such units are also assembled in Tatarstan: in Yelabuga and Bavly. Given the interest of Russians in domestic tourism, this kind of travel will only gain momentum,” said Sergey Grishin, chairman of the festival’s organizing committee.

In addition, the organizers presented a modernized guide to traveling through Tatarstan. It allows you to plan a 6-7 day trip around the republic, stopping at campsites where you can refuel the car, recharge the batteries, drain the “grey” water, fill the tanks with clean water and visit nearby points of interest visits.
