The Moskvich plant has completed preparations for the painting line for the start of small-unit car assembly planned for 2024. This was reported in the Moskvich bulletin.
“The preparatory process consisted of several stages: selection of local suppliers and materials, tests, preparation of equipment at the Moskvich plant. New movement trajectories of the body and robots have been developed for uniform application of paint and varnish,” the company said in a statement.
The first prototypes of painted bodies were tested for compliance with the standard, and local suppliers developed five colors for the bodies of Moskvich crossovers. The plant plans to paint most of the plastic exterior parts as well as the hulls. Small-unit assembly of crossovers is planned to begin in the first quarter of 2024, and will be carried out in parallel with large-unit assembly.
Previously Moskvich was known developed Localization program until 2029.
