History makes another round – and it’s time to remember what we wrote about in the 90s. The hijackers have become active again, insurance is becoming more expensive, so it is worth remembering the basic “self-defense techniques” against theft. This is what Mikhail Kolodochkin and Alexei Revin are doing on the pages of the new issue of Za Rulem magazine. There are many interesting things in their “collection”. Here it is, for example: a fishing line with a loop in the door.
Often, thieves enter the car interior without the help of electronic interception, turning the door lock cylinder with a very strong roller. The easiest way to deal with this is to remove the thrust from the larva to the lock: twisting won’t work! Obviously, the owner will not be able to use the regular key, but the key fob will remain at his disposal.
We can say that this method is for the most diligent as it requires some assembly / disassembly operations, but almost all folk methods are like this. Thus, one end of the fishing line must be tied to the rod that goes from the larva to the door lock.
In addition, the door for installing this anti-theft protection is recommended to choose the one you use least often. The second end of the fishing line can be brought out under the doorknob, or you can hide it even more carefully. The ideal option is to drag it through the water drain hole in the door.
At the second (exit, so to speak) end of the fishing line, you need to make a loop and fix it with reliable tape. Now, in an emergency (the key fob is stolen, the battery is dead), it will be possible to open the car with a pre-prepared hook with a tip that will not scratch the paint.
