AvtoVAZ is preparing to resume the assembly of cars of the Lada Granta family. According to TASS, work on stamping production, as well as engine and chassis production, has already resumed, and the assembly line is expected to be launched on June 8. Earlier, the company’s union announced that the Grants meeting would resume on June 6. It was a simplified version, dependent in part on foreign components.

Recall that due to a shortage of electronic components, AVTOVAZ stopped production sites in Togliatti and Izhevsk in the spring and postponed the summer corporate holiday to the period from April 4 to April 24. Then, after working for a few days, the factory workers went to the May holidays. It was planned to resume the meeting in the second half of May, but this never happened – the companies are at a standstill, the workers receive compensation of 2/3 of the average salary.

At the end of May, the new chairman of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, promised during a presentation to the staff that production would resume in early June. So far, the plan is to just restart production of Grants in a simplified configuration. As you know, the new technical regulations allow the production of cars without ABS, airbags, ERA-GLONASS unit and with a low-emission engine.

  • The price of the simplified subsidy is already known: according to preliminary information, such cars will cost from 640,000 to 840,000 rubles.
