The National Automobile Union (NAU) appealed to Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov with a request to limit the commission to car dealers when selling cars on credit. In this respect report “Izvestia” with reference to the relevant letter.
In the objection, it is stated that a significant portion of automobiles are purchased on credit and that these are becoming increasingly expensive, and that the increase in the Central Bank interest rate is not the only factor in the increase in prices. Therefore, the loan processing commission, especially from some car dealers, can be up to 9% of the loan amount. Moreover, the loan itself is calculated taking into account the cost of imposed products and services: insurance products, accessories, equipment.
We believe it is necessary to prohibit dealers from installing any accessories to the vehicle before the vehicle is sold. In addition, the union proposed limiting profits from the promotion of credit and insurance products by introducing a maximum commission for a car loan from a dealer (no more than 4%).
It is also recommended that the penalty applied to goods and services be implemented.
