In Balashikha they sell a rare model – Moskvich-410. This Soviet four-wheel drive car was produced for a very short time, from 1957 to 1958 at the Moscow Small Car Plant (MZMA, later AZLK), and Moskvich-411 station wagons were also produced in 1959 and 1960. Now there are very few of these cars left.
In fact, the “four hundred and tenth” is a four-wheel drive version of the Moskvich-402 and a more advanced version of the Moskvich-407 engine, such an option is on sale. The announcement of the sale of this almost unique car appeared on Avito.
According to the owner, the car has undergone a complete restoration. New (!) fenders, doors, part of the front, sill segments, hood, trunk lid were mounted. The gaps on the body have been removed, the thresholds have been treated with “anti-gravel”, no putty has been applied to the body, the body has been done with high quality. Chromed parts are chromed again.
Engine 35 hp, gearbox, transfer case, bridges are original. The tires fitted are new M-51, the spare wheel has been used, the wheels have been sanded and rolled. Optics – the USSR, the interior has been changed, carpet is laid on the floor and in the trunk.
Sergei Kanunnikov, Reviewer “Behind the wheel”
— Making the 402 a four-wheel drive car was not at all as easy as it seems. The engine, of course, had to be raised above the drive shaft to strengthen the body. The car got a new front and new rear axle, the original cooling system radiator and oil cooler, shock absorbers with lever instead of telescopic. I even had to change the angle of the steering column. Since the hood of the Moskvich-402 column was not built into the four-wheel drive car, the old steering wheel from Moskvich-401 was installed in the Moskvich-401.
Compared to the standard Moskvich-402, a four-wheel drive sedan with a ground clearance of 220 mm gained 200 kg curb weight (it reached 1180 kg) and lost top speed – only 85 km/h. But, as they wrote in the 1958 factory instructions, the main goal was achieved: “During any field work – in the fall, spring, summer – the car will serve the directors of MTS, foremen and repairmen, postmen.” Romance!
Only 7,580 Moskvich‑410 four-wheel drive sedans (and 1,515 Moskvich‑411 station wagons) were made, so the car in the photo is indeed a rarity today. The car is registered, has modern numbers and documents. That said, the price, especially for real connoisseurs, will not seem high: 1,300,000 rubles.
- And what is now being produced at the newly formed plant in Moskvich, when and how can these cars be bought?
- “Driving” can be read in Viber.
In fact, this is a 4×4 version of the well-known Moskvich-402 and Moskvich-407. Only here less than 8000 units of such machines were produced …
