Russia and Belarus agree to exchange information about traffic violators

The State Duma of the Russian Federation approved an agreement between Russia and the Republic of Belarus on mutual recognition of fines for traffic violations. In this respect reports “Kommersant”.

It was noted that the State Traffic Inspectors of the two countries will exchange information about those who violate the rules, including those whose vehicles are recorded by traffic cameras. Fines for traffic violations will be sent by mail. Today, due to the lack of interaction between departments, owners of vehicles with Belarusian license plates do not pay fines.

A Belarusian driver who violates traffic rules in Russia will have to pay a fine within 60 days. For Russians who violated traffic rules on the territory of Belarus, the period for voluntary payment of the fine in the republic is one month.
