St. Petersburg will definitely have KAD-2, but which one we’ll discover at the end of this year or early 2023.

Various options are now being considered and assessed for feasibility from different angles.

“We are now conducting a feasibility study into various options. Last year we discussed several options with the leaders of the Leningrad region. As a result of the feasibility study, the option will be chosen – this is early next year. In the five-year plan, the funds for the construction of this highway have already been allocated,” TASS is quoting the words of Vyacheslav Petrushenko, chairman of the board of directors of the state-owned company Avtodor.

The final and detailed design of the second ring road of Saint Petersburg will begin in 2025, and construction will be carried out “in the active phase” as early as 2027.

The cost of Ring Road-2 is currently estimated at 170 billion rubles, which will be allocated mainly from the National Welfare Fund (NWF).
