The creators of the Atom electric car abandoned large screens in the cabin so that drivers were not distracted from the road. In this respect said Alexander Pavlovich, design director of the “Atom” initiative.
According to Pavlovich, his team tried to rethink the car’s control functions and put them in “invisible mode”, so they abandoned the large screens. The screen will be placed inside the steering wheel.
“The display on the steering wheel poses a serious challenge in terms of design, familiar patterns and techniques. This is a gadget and a game controller in the hands of the driver. The head-up display will also show you what you need for your journey,” the designer said.
Pavlovich also talked about other solutions used in the electric car. There will be a single trunk at the back of the car that will fit a child seat and a folded stroller. The Atom’s appearance was created in collaboration with Italian studio Torino Design. Modern synthetics and fabrics will be used in interior decoration.
The Atom electric car will have a power plant that can accelerate the vehicle to 100 km/h in 8 seconds. The maximum power reserve will be 500 km. With an eight-minute charge, the battery can receive enough energy to drive the vehicle for 100 km.
Production of atomic vehicles will be established at the Moskvich plant in the capital. First electric cars will appear The company said it will be in auto showrooms in the second half of 2025.
Previously “Atom” showed The first photo of the chassis of the domestic electric car.
