The majority of Russians surveyed support the idea of reviving Soviet car brands. In this respect reports TASS, with reference to the study “Invention of the Automobile”.
“73% of respondents generally think that the revival of Russian brands from the Soviet era is a good idea. According to the survey results, 27 percent oppose the return of legendary Russian brands to the market.
The idea of reviving Soviet car brands is most supported by car enthusiasts aged 18-25 and 56-65. 46% of the total survey respondents have a positive attitude towards the revival of the Moskvich brand. More than half of the respondents believe that Oka and Volga cars should be revived. 25% believe that these brands should be revived to revive the traditions of the domestic automotive industry. Another 32% support these cars being entirely Russian and not being converted into Chinese models. The survey was conducted in August 2023 among drivers aged 18 to 65.
