This year is sure to be rich in high profile motorsport events – the Formula 1 and Nascar seasons are already in full swing, the Russian RCRS Championship and the Silk Way rally raid, in which the factory Niva Legend participates, are preparing for the Start.
But who would have thought that the electric Formula E is no longer the most high-tech and advanced competition in the world?
The solar car race, started by a group of enthusiasts from Kazakhstan and Russia and initially representing little more than a kind of cabal of mad scientists, is about to become an event to which all the views of the progressive public are riveted. On a global scale, of course, the idea is not new, but the post-Soviet space will see it for the first time.
In the latest video from the Temnaya FAZA Youtube channel, one of the participants in the upcoming battle, Nikita, shows the final stage of testing his solar car. In particular, he tries to understand how important the angle of light on a solar battery is, whether it makes sense to put energy directly into an electric motor (and not accumulate it by laying the batteries in the parking lot) and whether it needed to carry a wind generator as an alternative energy source in cloudy weather.
He also pays a visit to his friend and rival in the upcoming race – Anton, who is building a spectacular solar car called Star Factory. Together, friends arrange a trip of several hundred kilometers and discuss the possible difficulties of the upcoming route, along which the race will take place: 2700 kilometers, Uralsk – Almaty…
In addition to these two, other solar car designers from Sochi, Astrakhan, Perm, Aktobe will also participate in the competition… A total of eight unprecedented racing cars will appear at the start. The race will begin in June on the territory of Kazakhstan, the steppes of which will be full of sunlight, so necessary for all participants. But whose car more efficiently converts this light into kinetic energy – that is the main question. We follow the development of events!
- In the meantime, let’s take a ride on China Wolv FC25 electric car with 200km power reserve.
