Ford to phase out one of the oldest models

US automaker Ford will retire the Escape, which has been in production for over 20 years. In this respect informs motor1.com.

According to the publication, the last Escape crossover will roll off the Ford factory assembly line in 2025. An electric car will then appear in the brand lineup, replacing the retired model.

It is stated that Escape will be discontinued due to decreased interest from buyers. As of the second quarter of 2023, Ford dealers have sold 64,839 Escapes. This is 12.3% less than the same period in 2022. Later, 73,920 such machines were sold.

The first generation Ford Escape appeared in 2001, the second entered the market seven years later. The third generation was released in 2013, and the last one appeared in 2020.

The Escape isn’t the only model Ford will stop producing. Edge migration will be discontinued in the near future.
