From September 1, it will not be possible to rent electric scooters in Paris. In this respect informs RTBF television channel.

It was noted that the Paris authorities decided not to renew the contracts with the three private operators that rent electric scooters. Thus, the capital of France became the first European city to ban the use of electric scooters.

This decision is based on the results of the city’s referendum on the use of electric scooters. More than 100,000 Paris residents took part in the vote. 89% of those who participated in the April 2 referendum supported the ban.

In 2022, 400,000 rides were recorded with electric scooters in Paris.
