The Russian Ministry of Energy considers the increase in motor fuel prices at gas stations in the country to be a temporary phenomenon. In this respect informs Referring to the Ministry’s statement, RIA Novosti.
The Ministry of Energy, evaluating the Rosstat data on price increases at Russian gas stations, commented, “Motor fuel prices are market-based, so they fluctuate at certain moments.”
The ministry also announced that steps were being taken to reduce volatility to stabilize prices.
According to Rosstat, from the beginning of 2023 to August 7, the average cost of gasoline increased by 5.5%. Thus, the price of gasoline AI-92 increased by 5.4%, AI-95 – 5.7%, and AI-98 – 5%. The price of diesel fuel increased the least in the indicated period – 0.8%.
