Hyundai suspended automobile production in Russia in March 2022. Information about the sale of the factory to Astana Motors is in the media. However, the information was not confirmed. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation has announced its intention to sell the plant, but a final decision has not yet been made.

The PSMA Russian factory in Kaluga, which produces Peugeot, Opel and Citroen light commercial vehicles, stopped production in April 2022. Foreign media wrote that on the backdrop of sanctions, automobile production could be delayed. However, the auto company Stellantis, which owns 70% of the factory, did not confirm the information.

The Japanese company Mitsubishi, the second owner of the PSMA Russian auto plant, used the site to produce the Outlander and Pajero Sport models. The conveyor is still idle, there is no official comment on other activities in the country.
