Cars imported into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and cleared at customs in Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and other countries at a lower cost can then be picked up from final buyers. Wilhelmina Shavshina, expert of the Customs Policy Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Group B1 Customs Regulation and Head of the International Trade Group, told socialbites.ca.

“In the most conservative scenario, the car will be confiscated if administrative proceedings are initiated under Art. 16.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (illegal use, purchase, storage or transportation of goods). It is illegal, because customs payments between the borders of the EAEU member states were not paid in full from them, ”explained Shavshina socialbites.ca.

According to him, all the risks in the customs business belong to the goods and if the customs administration determines that the car has been registered for a lower price, it can make a request from the final buyer within the framework of the administrative regulation and principle. For the owner of a “problem” car, a real buyer is useless.

On what other risks await car owners who buy cars through customs in EAEU countries at a lower cost, To read In the material “socialbites.ca”.
