Auto Mail.ru conducted a survey on Russian knowledge of Chinese cars. Apparently, respondents are aware of more than half of the Chinese brands.
The most well-known were Haval, Chery and Geely. The first two are familiar to 89% of Russians, and the last to 87%. However, not all motorists are ready to buy such cars. More than 8,000 people participated in the study.
“Russian drivers are very familiar with the brands Exeed (78%), Great Wall (76%), JAC (74%), Changan (72%) and FAW (70%). Participants are also aware of very young brands in the Russian market: Omoda (70%) and Tank (64%). According to the survey results, Dongfeng and GAC brands are known by almost one out of every two respondents, 51.5% and 50% respectively.
At least Russians know Chinese brands such as Forthing (4%) and SWM (4%). 6% of the respondents do not know any Chinese car brand at all. And 0.09% are familiar to everyone.
One in five drivers is not yet ready to consider buying Chinese cars. However, among those ready, Geely (18%), Haval (17%), Chery (13%) and Exeed (11%) were favorites.
