A Moscow court convicted three colonels in a case of bribery for the maintenance of police vehicles. In this respect informs newspaper “Kommersant”.
The convicts served in the Federal State Institution “Administrative, Economic and Transport Main Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation” (FKU “GTSAKHiTO of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia”). A criminal case (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against the head of the department of the transport support organization Igor Tkachenko, his deputy Semyon Chichikin and his head Alexei Bytko on a particularly large-scale bribery was opened in 2019.
The colonels were found guilty of receiving commissions for patronage from Mikhail Kotov, general manager of Schmitt Motors Group LLC. The note states that this organization has won tenders for the maintenance and repair of the police fleet for nearly 10 years. According to the investigation, the officers closed their eyes in case of poor quality work and did not make claims that Kotov would pay them 10.5 million rubles. According to the newspaper, only 7 million rubles reached buyers.
The Savelovsky District Court sentenced Tkachenko to seven years in a strict regime colony, Bytko to six and a half, and Chichikin to six years. Everyone will have to pay a fine in the amount of a single bribe (10.5 million rubles).
