The most popular crossover in Chery’s lineup (and best-selling Chinese car in 2021) is gearing up for four-wheel drive. The first-born all-wheel drive SUV in the Russian line of the Chinese brand was the older brother of the “seven” – Tiggo 8 Pro Max, and according to the source “Chinese Automobiles”, the company plans to expand the line from 4×4 versions using Tiggo 7 Pro, responding to the request of Russian buyers.
It is possible that the model will also have the addition “Max” to the name, but it is still too early to talk about that. In addition, the exact timing of the appearance in the Russian Federation of such a change is not mentioned, but it is known that the Russian certification has not yet started.
In China the model is called 7 Plus, but here it remains the name 7 Pro
This most likely means four-wheel drive will appear in the restyled version of the model, and it won’t be until 2023. But the restyled Tiggo 7 Pro itself, although in a mono-drive version, will be released sooner in Russia.
On the Chinese market, the model is already presented under the name Tiggo 7 Plus, and its power sources are known to the Russians from the current 7 Pro and 8 Pro: 156 hp turbo engines. and 197 horsepower, the youngest of which comes with a six-speed manual or CVT, and the older only with a CVT.
In China, the drive of the novelty is also front-wheel drive only, but the common platform with the “eight”, which already has a 4×4 version, makes the task of expanding the equipment a matter of little time.
- But in Russia, pon the information “Behind the wheel”, until the end of next summer, Chery is going to introduce a completely new crossover Omoda 5
- “Behind the wheel” can be read in Odnoklassniki.
The crossover will borrow the all-wheel drive system from the older model – the flagship, which was the first in the Russian line to receive a 4×4 modification.
