The government of the Russian Federation adopted a decree prohibiting driving with winter tires in the summer. Text “The Decision on Amending the Basic Provisions for the Commissioning of Vehicles and the Obligations of the Officials to Ensure Road Safety” was published on the portal for the publication of official legal regulations.
According to the decree, it is forbidden to operate cars with summer tires in winter.
The regulation enters into force on 1 September 2023.
Previously reportedthat the government has approved an updated list of faults in which cars are prohibited from running.
The government clarified brake systems, steering, exterior lighting and engine requirements, and also set new requirements for buses. In case of corrosion and destruction of the floor in the cabin, their operation will be prohibited. The list of requirements for special vehicles, including tractors, has also been expanded.
