State Duma Deputy Alexander Yakubovsky suggested that the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs limit the speed of rental electric scooters to 15 km / h and take a number of other measures. The newspaper writes about it “News”referring to the MP’s objection.

The MP also proposed banning electric scooters from crossing on footpaths and banning minors from riding them.

According to him, the need to ban personal mobility aids (SIMs) on pedestrian streets stems from the fact that they are intended for walking and “not trying to evade flying electric scooters.”

“We have to look at the statistics of SIM crashes – its constant growth shows that the changes made have not yet worked,” Yakubovsky said.

In this context, according to the MP, the speed of rental electric scooters should be limited to 15 km/h.
