New car sales in Russia in April this year hit a record low for the past 15 years. The last time the Russian car market “hit the bottom” in April 2020, when it looked like sales were about to stop due to the coronavirus pandemic. Then, according to the analysis agency “AUTOSTAT”, the Russians bought 54.5 thousand new cars. And in April 2022, 28 thousand cars were bought, that is almost half as many!
The source also reports that the current result in April was three times lower than in March (78.9 thousand units), and six times more modest than in April 2021, when Russians bought 171.4 thousand cars.
