The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is preparing amendments to the regulations on the localization of industrial products from Russia. About the report vedomosti citing two sources.
It is planned to redistribute points within the system to evaluate the localization of vehicles in favor of automobile components, from welding, painting and stamping of vehicle body parts.
The points system itself was introduced in 2019. It also allows companies that have signed a private investment contract (SPIC) to apply for participation in public procurement.
According to the score it receives, the automobile concern also receives corresponding industrial subsidies, which the industry sees as compensation for the recycling fee.
The maximum number of points is 7000. Now almost all factories in the Russian Federation have such contracts. The current scale includes points for welding the body, painting, stamping body parts from Russian metal. For all these you can earn a maximum of 1500 points. For example, the updated Lada Vesta gets a total of 4500 points.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade planned to reduce the number of points for welding and painting and to give more points for localization of components. This innovation is being discussed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade together with the industry community.
