Andrey Kutepov, chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy of the Federation Council, proposed to reduce the cost of OSAGO policies for Russian cars. In this respect informs TASS, with reference to a copy of the letter addressed to the Deputy Prime Minister, Head of State Personnel of Russia Dmitry Grigorenko. The document says that for domestic cars where the degree of localization of components exceeds 600 points, the cost of “auto-citizenship” can be reduced.

“In order to create incentives for car insurance while at the same time creating incentives to buy Russian-made cars, I ask you to consider reducing the cost for Russian cars of OSAGO with a localization level of at least 600 points,” the letter said.

According to the law, the degree of decentralization is taken into account when concluding state contracts today. Therefore, each passenger car must earn at least a certain point in order to participate in public procurement tenders. From January 1, 2021, this minimum threshold was 3.2 thousand points, and from January 1, 2024, it should be 4.5 thousand points.

Previously reportedAndrey Kutepov, chairman of the Economic Policy Committee of the Federation Council, has completed work on a draft law that will increase the period of car repair from 30 days to 45 days under OSAGO. Innovation is connected, among other things, with the lack of spare parts and the problem of breaking in technological chains. According to current standards in Russia, a penalty is imposed if a car repair takes more than 30 days.
