Californian radiologist Dharmesh Patel drove down a cliff with his family in a Tesla car, charged with attempted murder. informs Fox News.
The incident occurred on the Devil’s Slide Point highway south of San Francisco. Rescuers who arrived at the scene noticed a white Tesla about 75 meters from the cliff. In the car were a 41-year-old doctor with his wife and two children – a 4-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. All Tesla passengers survived, the boy was unharmed, the girl was seriously injured, but was soon discharged from the hospital.
The driver’s wife was the most injured in the accident. He told investigators that Patel was depressed and told him he was going down a cliff. The man pleaded not guilty and stated that he wanted to get out of the way to check for a flat tire.
According to the district attorney, who reviewed witness testimonies and footage from the tunnel that Patel had passed through before the accident, the Tesla driver made no attempt to slow down and his actions were deliberate.
