Spare parts waiting period for middle and premium segment foreign cars increased to 6 months, report Izvestiya with reference to major Russian car dealers.

According to representatives of car dealerships, the average delivery time of spare parts can be from two to six months. There are problems with the supply of electronic components, body positions, interiors, as well as engines, cylinder heads and transmission units.

Dealers said it was the hardest thing to get spare parts for car brands Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Lexus and Cadillac. Experts noted that the shortage of some spare parts will continue until the end of the year due to the accumulated high demand and extended delivery times.

The Car Services Association said suppliers, under pressure from enforcement legislation, are taking additional measures to control the movement of goods.
