Last April, dealers in Russia sold 75.6 thousand new cars, which is 2.7 times more than in the same month last year. informs Analytical agency “Avtostat” with reference to the data of JSC “Passport Industrial Consulting”.
In terms of sales, the leader was Lada, whose share exceeded 33% in April (about 23% a year ago). During the month, 25.3 thousand new domestic cars were sold. This is followed by three Chinese brands: Chery (9.3 thousand units), Geely (7.1 thousand units) and Haval (6.8 thousand units). The top five were closed by Kia (3.4 thousand units). Lada Granta, Geely Coolray, Lada Niva Travel, Haval Jolion and Chery Tiggo 4 Pro lead the model rankings in April. Next up are Lada Niva Legend, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Omoda C5, Haval F7x and Geely Tugella. Geely Coolray saw the biggest increase in sales (17x), while others experienced 4 to 9x market growth.
The agency noted that in just four months, about 247,000 new cars were sold in Russia, which is 15.4% less than in the same period last year.
