The cause of the fatal accident near Novosibirsk may have been the movement of the bus into the opposite lane. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the district administration.
The collision occurred around 11:00 local time at the 87th kilometer of the K-17r highway. The Haiger bus carrying 47 passengers was traveling from Novosibirsk to Chistoozernoye.
“According to preliminary information, the bus driver <…> The regional government entered the opposite lane causing the bus to collide with a Chevrolet Niva car traveling in the opposite direction.
In a conversation with the NGS.RU portal, the press service of the government of the Novosibirsk Region reported that a 39-year-old Chevrolet Niva driver died. A 12-year-old boy in the car suffered bruises and a concussion.
“It turned out to be a boy on the Niva. Drive, of course, immediately to death. We started helping people get off the bus. Pity the child, this is the first time I saw this, I could not calm the child,” one of the eyewitnesses told reporters.
The bus crashed into a ditch and rolled over and rolled into a deep puddle that almost completely flooded the passenger compartment.
“On the track, I saw the bus start shaking all over the track, shaking very strongly, and then starting to slow down. And that’s it, and it fell. There was almost a lake there, ”said the interlocutor of the publication.
One of the drivers passing by drove a covered trailer and helped people get off the bus – they ran out of the pier side windows.
“Because the bus was in a ditch, it fell directly into a puddle, people came out completely drenched after a shower,” Sergey, an eyewitness to the accident, told socialbites.ca.
Passengers from the overturned bus were sent to Chistoozernoye on spare planes. While a total of 11 people were taken to the hospital, some of the injured were discharged by doctors.
“Three more people injured in the accident were taken to the Orda Central Regional Hospital. The press service of the District Health Ministry said that the doctors examined everyone, took two of them to the hospital – they are in moderate condition.
According to eyewitnesses who rushed to the aid of the passengers, there were no serious injuries among them – mostly people were shocked.
Another eyewitness to the accident, Elizabeth reported “Gazeta.ru”, “the body of an adult lay” next to the car.
In February 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the death toll on Russian roads is tragic. “Despite some improvements, the situation on the roads is still difficult. About 50 people die every day in traffic accidents and about 600 people are injured. It’s very, very tragically,” he stressed.
