Unmanned trucks will start operating in experimental mode along the M-11 Neva high-speed toll highway in June 2023, informs RIA Novosti, referring to Vitaly Savelyev, Minister of Transport.

“In June, it is planned to create a digital twin of the road infrastructure of sections of the M-11 highway (excluding the Tver ring road). The agency, quoting the words of the minister, is scheduled to start the movement of highly automated vehicles on the same M-11 Neva highway at the end of June.

According to him, an experimental legal regime is in place, allowing the launch of unmanned transport on the M-11 highway. In February, it was reported that KamAZ has produced two of the five required vehicles for experimental highly autonomous transport. Cars with level four autonomy will carry commercial cargo while the driver will be in the cabin.

It was previously known in Russia entry GOST, which regulates car alcohol locks, came into force.
