Dealers note that motorists in Russia are increasingly trading in used European cars 2-5 years old to buy new Chinese crossovers. Such a trend, according to dealers, originated last summer and continues to this day.
Car owners explain their desire to exchange a “European” for a “Chinese” for several reasons. One of them is the fear of risks in maintenance and the lack of necessary spare parts and their price increase.
According to the sales manager of the Exeed brand dealership in Kaluga, the latest such receipts are Volkswagen Touareg, Land Rover Discovery, Mercedes-Benz E-class crossovers.
Another car center also confirms this trend, noting that the reason for exchanging European cars for Chinese cars is the growing distrust of brands that have suspended work in Russia.
One of the dealers also noted that there are cases where customers want to try something new, so they exchange their fresh European cars for Chinese cars with a valid warranty.
