A man carrying a lion cub in a Moscow car-share car has been accused of cruelty to animals. In this respect informs Metropolitan Main Directorate of the Ministry of Interior.

A car traffic cops with a wild animal in its cabin stoped 9 March on Gerasim Kurin Street. The 35-year-old driver transported a lion cub without proper documentation. The animal was sent to the Moscow Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection.

It turned out that the man bought a lion cub, about 4 months old, from an unidentified person in another part of the Russian Federation. It was noted that the buyer did not provide the animal with proper care and care.

“As a result of lack of proper care – the animal was not provided with a balanced and specially adapted diet and diet – the lion cub developed rickets, which can lead to its death in the future,” the statement says.

Now the lion cub is in the rehabilitation center for wild animals. A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Cruelty to Animals”, the suspect was released on bail.
