The transfer of control over the technical inspection (TO) operators initiated by the competent authorities from the car insurers to the Federal Accreditation Service can lead to an increase in the cost of diagnosis for drivers. In this respect informs “Kommersant”.
According to the publication, in 2020, Senator Andrey Kutepov drafted a bill on the transfer of the accreditation authority of maintenance operators from the Russian Association of Motor Insurers (RSA) to the Federal Accreditation Service. Accreditation is a procedure for the operator to verify his professional qualifications: availability of necessary equipment, facilities, personnel. According to Kutepov, the state structure should better cope with such a procedure.
According to market participants interviewed by the publication, the decision to change the accreditation body can result in an increase in the procedure time, an increase in the financial costs associated with accreditation, as well as a decrease in control over the activities of the operators.
