New generation Hyundai Solaris premiered in India

The automaker’s press service reported the start of sales of the next-generation Hyundai Solaris, which is sold under the Verna name in India. The car is available in four trim levels and seven body colors to choose from. The price of the sedan starts at 1.09 million rupees (about 1 million rubles at the current exchange rate).

The new Hyundai Verna/Solaris will increase in size compared to the previous generation model, with dimensions of 4535x1765x1475 mm and a wheelbase of 2670 mm. The manufacturer said that the interior of the car has become wider, thanks to which the wheelbase has increased by 70 mm and the width by 36 mm. With the generation change, the luggage volume of the sedan will increase from 480 liters to 528 liters.

The car received double-block headlights and a strip of diodes connecting them to the top of the grille. Already in the basic configuration, the interior trim is made in two colors – beige and black. The interior is decorated with atmospheric lighting with 64 colors. The Verna has heated and ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch multimedia display and haptic feedback buttons on the steering wheel. The sedan comes with six airbags.

In India, the Verna will be powered by a new 1.5-liter direct-injection turbo petrol engine that will be paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Also, the lineup will include a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine with either a mechanical or a CVT.

The list of driver assistants includes parking sensors, front and rear cameras, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning systems, blind spot monitoring, keeping the car in lane, avoiding collisions when reversing, and more.
