In Moscow, they began testing a neural network to search for offenders on electric scooters and other means of individual mobility (SIM). According to the head of the metropolitan traffic police, Alexander Bykov, the infrastructure of the Center for Traffic Organization (TsODD) will be used.

The first tests of the system will take place on the main streets, where a higher speed limit applies. In other words, these are the streets where you are allowed to drive at a speed of more than 60 km/h, but cannot move there on the SIM card.

There is no doubt that smart cameras can calculate anything and everything. But another question arises: how will they determine and punish the one who rode the electric scooter accordingly?

Expert opinion

Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Behind the wheel”

– I saw the smart electronics of a scooter on the avenue. And then what? So far nothing. It has no license plates, other differences too. Is it urgent to chase him in a traffic police car? I doubt the police have other things on their minds. He turned into the nearest corridor, into the courtyard there – and goodbye.

Recall that on March 1, changes to the traffic rules came into effect, which equated electric scooters, electric skateboards, gyroscooters, Segways, unicycles and other similar devices to vehicles.

They got SIM status.

Movement on it is allowed at a speed not exceeding 25 km / h.

  • “Drive” is now available to watch on RuTube.
