Doctors saved the life of a driver who was seriously injured in the head as a result of the rebar hitting the windshield. In this respect said Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region.

A 39-year-old man came alone to Mytishchi hospital with symptoms of a severe head injury and cerebral hemorrhage. He said he was driving a car on the Yaroslavl highway and at one point an unknown sharp object pierced the windshield and hit him in the head.

The man was diagnosed with an open penetrating craniocerebral injury, severe brain contusion with intracerebral hematoma, and hemorrhage into the brain substance. An urgent operation was required to remove the hematoma – craniotomy. According to neurosurgeon Sergey Sergeyev, the delay could have been fatal, the operation took more than three hours. The patient was kept in a medical coma for more than 10 days.

“I don’t remember very well how I got into the hospital, what happened and what kind of object hit my head, I was in a state of shock, I held on. And then, already in the hospital and completely unconscious. But as a doctor, I know that hospital specialists have performed a great miracle. “I don’t believe I’m still alive,” said the patient.

It was noted that the injured driver was a hereditary doctor. Awaiting a long rehabilitation and cosmetic surgery to restore the integrity of the skull, the patient has already been discharged home.
