The Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering the possibility of transferring funds budgeted for the implementation of the preferential car loan program in 2023 in terms of electric vehicles to cars with an internal combustion engine, said Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Federation – Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The department will announce the initiative regarding the money transfer at the beginning of April.

The fact is that the budgeted 5 billion rubles allocated for the demand support program in 2023 has already expired. However, 1.5 billion rubles of them are “blocked” for electric vehicle loans.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade spoke about the possibility of additional funding for the program, if the budget allows. The intention was to keep the parameters, but the amount of the discount could be changed.

In July last year, preferential car loans and leasing programs were resumed with a total budget of 20.7 billion rubles.
