The Czech carmaker Skoda sees no possibility of continuing its activities in Russia, said company chairman Klaus Zellmer.
The Volkswagen Group has analyzed various scenarios for the course of events. The preference is to sell all assets in Russia, including the factory in Kaluga, to a third party. There is no chance that we will resume production and sales of cars in Russia in the near future, he stressed.

Klaus Zellmer found that Skoda’s departure from Russia resulted in a loss of almost 700 million euros for the company. This money has been spent since March last year on maintaining the company’s production and dealer network.
Skoda’s top manager also confirmed that negotiations on the sale of assets in the Russian Federation are in the “final stage”.
The Russian office of the Volkswagen group (owner of Skoda), located in Nizhny Novgorod, was closed last summer. The factory in Kaluga is likely to have a new owner in the near future.
