Driving expert Alexander Vinogradov talked about modern turbocharged engines, which, if properly maintained and used, have a resource that is not inferior to naturally aspirated engines.
Among them, the expert highlights the Skoda Karoq, equipped with a 1.4 TSI engine. The same engine is installed on the Kodiaq, as well as on the Volkswagen Tiguan and Taos. The engine is relieved of teething problems.

The 1.4 TSI engines of the last five years of production no longer suffer from timing chain wear, because it has been replaced by a timing belt, which only needs to be replaced in time. The rapid wear of the piston group, as well as oil consumption, which was frightening before the modernization of the engine, has also disappeared.
At the same time, the car’s dynamics are better than cars with a naturally aspirated engine of comparable power due to high torque (250 Nm) and fuel consumption is lower. Only the water pump needs attention – with a small run-up, the case can start to leak.
