The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has announced the completion of the integration of the ERA-GLONASS system with all existing Systems-112. As noted in the message of the Ministry of Transport, the successful completion of the integration of systems in 85 regions of Russia is the most important step to save the life and health of people on highways.

ERA-GLONASS provides information about an accident to the emergency services in an average of 19 seconds, including the exact coordinates of the accident, the category of the vehicle, the type of fuel and the nature of the damage.

The system works even if there are no witnesses, as it automatically notifies the emergency services of the accident.

To date, more than 9.2 million vehicles are connected to ERA-GLONASS. At the same time, since the beginning of 2023, the system has received more than 2.3 million calls from motorists and forwarded more than 15,000 confirmed alarms to the 112 rescue services.

  • It was previously announced that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce plans to reset the mandatory requirement to equip all imported cars with ERA-GLONASS emergency call devices from June 1, 2023.
