Last week, a teaser vaguely hinted at the impending appearance of a new Volkswagen concept.

We’re now being told that the concept will not only represent a future production EV, but also Wolfsburg’s “fresh design language”.

Scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, the event will be hosted by CEO Thomas Schaefer along with lead designer Andreas Mindt. They will talk about “how Volkswagen will be positioned in the coming years”.

It will be an entry-level, front-wheel drive electric car that’s slightly smaller than the recently updated ID.3. It could be called ID.2, and maybe even Golf.

The new zero-emission model will be the first model from the German automaker to use the MEB+ platform.

Models based on the MEB+ platform get lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, which provide a range of 700 km (stated). It is expected that the novelty will cost from 25,000 euros (about 2 million rubles).
