Subjects of the Federation may impose their own penalties for non-payment of travel tolls on toll regional highways. The draft of the corresponding amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses was submitted by the government of the Russian Federation to the State Duma, informs “Kommersant”.
According to the document, the size of the fine to be imposed for non-payment of the travel fee on roads of regional, inter-municipal and local importance will be specified in the regional legislation. We are talking about such roads as the Moscow High-Speed Diameter, the northern reserve of Kutuzovsky Prospekt, the Mytishchinskaya Chord, the Novolytkarinsky Highway, the Khabarovsk bypass and others.
The current fine for driving on toll roads (1.5 thousand rubles for cars and 5 thousand rubles for trucks and buses) will be charged only for driving on federal toll roads administered by the state company Avtodor (M-1 , M-4, M-). 3, Central Ring Road, M-12 and others).
The amount of sanctions in the regions is not yet known, but fines can be paid within 20 days at a 50% discount. Photo and video recording tools will be used to detect violations in the regions. In the note, the changes are expected to take effect on March 1, 2024.
